TikTok trends of January 2024
TikTok trends of January 2024 are here so get down with the cool kids with the most popular of them: a monthly source of inspiration for content creation.
January was an opportunity to mark new beginnings, set new goals and resolutions but also an opportunity for new trends to appear on TikTok. Before we begin I want to wish you all a fulfilling year and hope you make your bed in the morning by the end of 2024. *love reacts only*
Let’s get back to our trends, shall we? Because as they saying goes, we gathered here today…
1. We are… of course…
It’s a simple trend about us: we are X and we`re doing Y goes without saying. What stood out with this trend was very varied, from different cultures to equality and of course… fun things. Trends saw an opportunity to combine fun with practicality and brought out their arsenal of qualities or flaws in a fun way. That’s how they managed to engage with the world extraordinarily well. You’ve already noticed that I have a pattern when I give examples, that’s because I’m loyal to accounts that produce good content. Long live the social media humans behind them! Not all heroes wear caps! Without much introduction, we’re starting 2024 with Ryanair:
2. Gegagedigedagedago
You probably read it and said, “What the actuall….”? Exactly. I went the same way. I exclusively present to you the January trend that makes no sense, but nailed it.
The track that started the trend is Collector by The Real Bill and is a version of Cotton Eye Joe by Rednex, after a few months in Vaslui. Instead, you wonder who took this trend, made it, ATE AND LEFT NO CRUMBS? Duolingo, of course. Why do I say that? We know that Duolingo is an app that helps you learn languages, in a more fun and practical way. The irony is that this app that teaches you languages has taken that gibberish sound and exploited it to the fullest, on principle: This is how you`ll end up if you lose your streaks, put your head together and log in for 10 minutes a day so you`ll not end up in France and all you`ll know how to say will be Gegagedigedagedago, s’il vous plait
3. I told you we needed more glitter
Short, to the point – and one of my favourites from these TikTok trends of January 2024. It shows duality: between personalities, people, products, brands. Everything is duality. We’re all prone to duality. For example me, when I go to work in the morning, I look like I’m so pissed off at life that I just glare at people WITHOUT EVEN REALISING, it’s just my morning gaze. However, in my headphones there’s definitely a cutie pookie patootie kpop song that makes my soul pink. See my point? We all have a duality of personality. Fenty Beauty caught on, showed us and they slayed:
4. Yes, and?
Arianaaaa, what are you doing here???!!!
Ariana Grande is back with a new banger, a response to all the criticism leveled at her, but that’s a topic for another article. What’s certain is that the track features a portion that went viral on TikTok and was exploited to the fullest by both content creators and brands. She wanted to make the point that in the end, whatever we want we do – that’s it, long story short. Definitely worth making it into the TikTok trend list of January 2024.

5. Everywhere I go a keep a picture in my wallet
One of my favourites, I couldn’t miss it, it’s been all over FYP – especially in the couples niche. It’s this really cool transition where you show your s/o’s (significant other) photo and from the transition, from the back, from the side, somehow they enter the photo. IT’S VERY CUTE! It was adapted by a bunch of influencers or celebrities, because it was a good opportunity to connect with the community and of course, make someone happy.
As an example, TxT stitched a video where they took a portion of an MOA’s video and pasted it with the idol the card was on. I just want you to look at the numbers. It blew up:
