Cred că a fost cel mai simpatic dintre trendurile TikTok din Octombrie care a arătat dinamicile prieteniilor, cuplurilor, colegiilor de muncă, practic orice dinamică.

TikTok Trends In October 2023

TikTok’s October trends, and the month itself, went by as quickly as any other. I can swear that half an hour ago when I looked at my watch it was September 1. But that’s not why we’re here, not to judge time passing too quickly together, by any means. We’re here to dig out the October TikTok trends that have been swarming the Fyp.

You ready? Fast like time is passing.

1. Wassup Gwayy

You can’t. Effectively I think it was the cutest of the October TikTok trends that showed the dynamics of friendships, couples, co-workers, basically any dynamic. The trend itself has over 2 million posts. Yes, over 2 million videos of people who found themselves in this trend. What does it mean? Overall it’s a simple trend, it’s almost a dance trend. I say almost, because anyone can do it, duh. It’s not with complicated moves and professional dancers’ schemes.

The context is this: people create videos of themselves and their friends dancing to the song Wassup Gwayy, on the “What’s up, Gwayy? In the cut with my twin, we be vibin'” part. The video basically alternates between two friends, who use their hands to form the letter “L” and move them back and forth. Nothing simpler, right? Context: the text on the video shows you the dynamic you have in your friendship, because the vibe you have with your friend is yours alone and it doesn’t matter what anyone else says. If something makes you happy, keep it!

One of the most popular videos like this is by influencer @ayesebastien, made with his sister, here:

Very cool by the way, this trend has also entered the Celebrities category. Do you know Jungkook? If you don’t know him, you’re about to find out who he is, let me introduce you to him. Jungkook is the youngest member of the Kpop group BTS. He recently released his solo album and made history on Spotify with the track Seven, which reached the fastest 1B listens. Well, this BTS maknae has gained some ground and jumped in with this portion of the trending video, leaving the fandom to do their thing and fill her in with what they deem most appropriate. A very good example of UCG for TikTok:

@AbjkMRstY hit the stage this morning for our CitiConcertSeries, and safe to say #BTSArmy was FEDDDDD!! We’re so happy #JungKook stopped by our plaza and made time to finally share the #Golden album with ARMY in his live performances! #TODAYShow #JungKookOnTODAY

2. It was ruined when she bought it

Very fun this trend, it started at the end of September and held gloriously through October. Basically people were highlighting on this short, 6-second maximum sound, situations that had “factory default”. For example: when I’d go to Grandma’s and she’d see me with ripped jeans. That moment when she’d ask if I’d paid money for them because they were torn. Basically this is a very good situation to use this sound.

I’m an avowed Ryanair fan when it comes to content on TikTok. I don’t know who is the Social Media Manager at them, but they deserve a raise. They picked this one out of all the TikTok trends in October and combined it with booktok. Let’s face it, there are a lot of people on the plane reading. I won’t tell you which book Ryanair chose to use, I’ll let you have a look. (I’m already giggling.)

3. Nobody is better than the original

Self-explanatory. Nobody is better than the original. Or in other words – the copy has no value. (I had to make that joke). Ladies and gentlemen, Fenty Beauty:

@fentybeauty

#GLOSSBOMB RiRi says it’s on sight!! 🗣️ see u at @target, hunny!! 🫢👀 #FentySnackz has entered the chat at #UltaBeautyatTarget & chuuu already know how it goes with them #BEEFINGBOMBS 🥊 Which #fentybeauty baddie do y’all wanna see pull up to #Target next? 😝

4. The judgy doggy

Capcut templates with funny animals have become increasingly viral on TikTok. What I really appreciate in a brand is when they come out of a tense situation with a funny template. Every time I go on vacation abroad, the first thing I do when I get to another city is check to see if they have Dunkin’. A d o r e. The coffee and donuts at Dunkin’, as far as I’m concerned, are from another planet. And guess what, they’re also funny. Oh, one more thing: they also do content on TikTok which also made it into the October TikTok trends. Good content:

@dunkin

we can’t control all the spider donuts in the wild #dunkin #donut #spider #halloween

Also, here’s another one from home turf, we really like what Kaufland is doing on TikTok:

@kauflandromania

#Meme #MemeCut cu cât împodobim bradul mai repede, cu atât vacanța e mai aproape 💪❤️ #christmas #christmasfever #fy #fyp #kaufland #kauflandromania

5. I was made for lovin’ you babe

I love this trend. It’s so fun, whitty, edgy, bold-ish. All the words together, it feels SO REAL to me. Basically 2 parallels are captured here: the comfortable one and the one we really want. Out of the TikTok trends in October, this one took off and had situations from the “hot guys/medium ugly guys” dynamic to the “Kaufland/Lidl” dynamic.

Look what Banca Transilvania has done:

That being said… see you next month.
