Top 5 trends of TikTok in June 2023

The time has come to talk about TikTok and the trends that have been sweeping the month of June, because everyone knows: what is TikTok without trends and viral sounds?

Every month new trends are born and sounds you know, have known or are you just hearing about for the first time go viral, which encourages TikTok and content creators to create content based on the trend. We already know what the term means, how it’s used on TikTok and why, so I propose we get straight into the thick of it.

  1. Bill Hader CapCut Template – or as everyone calls it… the one with Makeba.

Makeba is a track that has gone viral on TikTok in recent weeks and was used in May as an overall vibe, which means Makeba was describing a vibe of happiness, relaxation, partying – everything that falls into this palette of good vibes only. In June this was put on a CapCut template with Bill Hader. Basically, it still means the same thing, but you can adapt it in more ways – especially corporate. I think that’s also because the comedian looks a lot like the character Dwight from The Office.

2. Stop when it’s a lie – Green Flag edition.

Last year the internet was swarmed with Red Flag, we all know what it means, and for some time now the term Green Flag has been popular. We can say that if Red Flag is bad (well, unless we’re talking about TikTok hotties now, because I’m colorblind), when someone is a Green Flag it means they’re what you’d want in life.

TikTok put out this filter with 3 Green Flags overhead and it’s supposed to guess your 3 Green Flags. As we know, it’s not the most on point, so the trend is to stop when the effect tells the first lie. It became really funny when it was adapted for actors, singers, anime characters and so on.

3. Ashley. Look. At. Me.

Beauty transition. It’s the most successful beauty transition of June. The sound is from the show The Boys, it refers to the character Ashley Barrett (good show, I highly recommend!). As with any video like this there is a very cool transition involved, and no one can tell me that anything including beauty transition isn’t satisfying to watch. As with any video like this there is a very cool transition involved, no way to do top 5 trends without beauty trends – sorry.

4. If we ever broke up – Dance trend

Of course, we also came up with dance trends. Of all people this one we’ve seen everywhere in June, from tutorials on how to rock it, to videos with millions of likes on this simple dance.

The song that went viral is If We Ever Broke Up by Mae Stephens. Enjoy!

5. Late night in the middle of June.

In mid-June TikTok was FULL of this sound. We know summer is a magical season, summer has a lot going on. This track is matchy matchy with June, the month when we realize it is indeed summer. It wasn’t particularly something that stood out, it was a whole vibe that everyone expressed as they wanted on this track. Who did you think of when you heard this on For You? 😊 By the way, Heat Waves, that’s the name of the song.

I know there’s this whole discussion about being original on TikTok and I believe in it 100%, but sometimes you have to go with the flow. Trends aren’t called like this for nothing, if they didn’t work they wouldn’t be put under this category. Go with the wave (it’s summer, did you get it?)
